I love matte liquid lipsticks. I find them perfect to take on the go, they’re always so easy to apply and with different finishes the choice is endless. Owning quite a few lipsticks I wanted to narrow it down to the best and worst drugstore ones I’ve tried. Because I own so many, it would take me years to review each and every single one. Let me know below if you want to see a luxury best and worst review 👇🏼
1. NYX – Liquid Lingerie
If you read my 2017 Disappointing Products post you’ll know exactly why I dislike these but if not then keep reading…
I’m so gutted about this one because the shades are gorgeous and so many people have said how amazing they are. The first thing I hate is the formula; it’s so creamy that it doesn’t apply easily and the colour gets so smeary as it dries really weirdly. I try to even out the lipstick but it just gets smeary and makes my lips look really weird…gross.
2. Barry M – Matte Me Up
I absolutely love this. Red lipstick is my favourite colour to wear (other than nudes) and this liquid lipstick by Barry M has saved my life. The colour is long lasting and hydrating so you don’t need to reapply often. I find that most red liquid lipsticks fade easily and transfer badly but this one doesn’t and that’s why it’s one of my favourites. I haven’t tried any other shades that Barry M do so I think I’ll have to.
3. Sleek – Matte Me
These ones I do like. Sleek do some really nice affordable make-up which is great and I tried one of their liquid lipsticks ages ago and loved it. Over Christmas I went to a blogger’s event and was given these so I don’t know how much they are but I know they won’t break the bank. The colours are great and really easy to apply. Not as longlasting as others I’ve tried but still amazing for the price!
4. Pixi Beauty – Matte Last
I really can’t make up my mind on this one. I love the Pixi brand and I swear by their skincare and their eyeliners but I’m just not sure on how I feel about this lipstick. The lipstick wand is really weird; it’s like a heart shape which is normally fine but makes it difficult to apply with precision so you end up with lipstick all over your face. It takes a while to dry and then when it does it’s quite tacky and sticky. The colour is amazing and really longlasting but I’m just not too sure on the formula and the applicator.
5. Studio 10 – Velvet Liquid Lips
I’m really not a fan of this one. I got given it as a gift and honestly I’ve never even heard of Studio 10 but I thought I’d give it a try and see. It has easy application and the colour is really pretty but it dies my lips out so so badly. I’ve tried putting lip balm underneath or even on top and it just doesn’t stop it from drying my lips up. Got to give this one a miss!
