Colourpop Super Shock Shadows – Review

Colourpop Website

I’ve always heard about how amazing Coloupop products are but because they’re LA based (😭😭😭) and not on most online beauty sites, I forget that they exist. About a month ago, I saw on their Twitter that they were doing a ‘buy 2 get 1 free’ promotion on their Super Shock Shadows (individually priced at 5$!) so I decided to get a few and try them out. My current go-to eyeshadow palette is the Sexy Eyes – BOUDOIR EYES Eyeshadow Palette from Too Faced but recently I feel that their shadows look super pretty but aren’t very pigmented and look very chalky. Because of this, I was extremely excited to try the Colourpop shadows out.

(P.S Please ignore that one of the shadows are smashed – blame Royal Mail for that)

I bought 6 shadows and it came to 20$ then 10$ shipping (I need to move to the US – fuck paying 10$ for delivery). Once it had come out of my account it worked out to be £23 (inc. shipping) which isn’t bad at all considering most eyeshadows are much higher priced. After two weeks of it being shipped over I get the dreaded tax and customs slip through the door and had to pay another £13.42 just to get my parcel. But I didn’t care once I saw how pretty it was.

I bought 4 shimmer and 2 matte shadows, all autumnal colours to try out this season. I’ve only used Amaze so far, which is incredible, but I know that the rest are going to be amazing.

The pigment is by far the best I’ve ever seen in an eyeshadow. The formula is creamy but not sticky so it feels weightless when wearing. I wore Amaze to work a couple of days ago and normally, by the time I get home my eyeshadow has worn off/I have glitter all down my face, but my eyeshadow stayed in place all day, not a drop of glitter under my eyes.

Colourpop are known for being “wallet friendly and bunny approved” which (as a copywriting geek) I love so so much. It proves that you don’t have to be an expensive brand to provide great quality. I am so excited to try out more of their products (especially their new Super Shock Highlighters!).

If you’ve tried any Colourpop products let me know which ones you’ve used in the comments! 🐰💸✨
