Benefit Full-Face MakeUp Kit Review

Beauty School Knockouts – Full-Face Makeup Kit

When I shop for new makeup I always look at other brands before I look at Benefit. It’s not that I don’t like Benefit, I’ve just always found other brands to use instead. I bought the Benefit They’re Real! Push Up Liner about two years ago and I wasn’t that impressed. For the same price I’d rather use the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner. But, I’ve heard a lot of people say Benefit do some really nice products and I saw this full faced set so wanted to give it a go.

In the set you get:

  • The POREfessional mini (7.5ml)
  • They’re Real! Mascara mini in Beyond Black (3.0g)
  • They’re Real! Duo Shadow Blender mini in Naughty Neutral (3.5g)
  • A Custom Shadow Blender
  • Gimme Brow mini in 03 (1.0g)
  • Benetint (4.0ml)
  • Rockateur (3.0g)
  • Mini Powder Brush

I really liked the look of this set as it has almost everything you need to achieve a full face of makeup (minus the foundation, concealer and eyeliner!). I can see myself taking this on holiday or to work as the miniature products are so easy to take on the go.

The POREfessional primer is amazing. It is the perfect base and it didn’t leave my face feeling sticky like other primers I’ve used. I also really liked the the Gimme Brow; after I filled in my eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil, it’s the best top coat that gives a little extra volume and thickness. I was looking forward to using the eyeshadow duo as the colours looked lovely but unfortunately, they lacked pigmentation and when applied, it just looked like I smothered glitter all over my eyelids (and not in a good way).

I’ve heard many amazing reviews about Benefit’s mascaras so was really looking forward to trying the They’re Real! Mascara. However, I wasn’t blown away by it. I didn’t like the wand and the mascara was really wet so I felt myself waiting ages for it to dry. Also, I felt that the mascara tube didn’t take off enough excess so it made my lashes clumpy, meaning that by the end of the day I had a lot of fallout and looked like a raccoon (fit). For a little bit more money I’d rather buy the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara which has been the best mascara I’ve ever used.

When I saw that the set included a blush I didn’t expect much from it as I don’t often use blush because I can never seem to find the right shade for my colour. Most blushes I’ve tried are either too pink or too red or glittery (why are blushes glittery now-a-days?!) so I’ve just given up with finding one. I was so happy when I tried the Rockateur Blush as, despite how it looks in the packaging, it’s a lovely champaign/rose colour which flattered my colour perfectly (result!). The Benetint complimented the blush nicely as it gave my lips a lovely ‘cherry-red’ stain.

Overall, I’m still inconclusive as to whether I like Benefit but I think I need to try more products as some I absolutely love and others are just not for me.
