The Crazy Bear Hotel

It’s my birthday! The start of the year has been exceptionally busy at work and amongst the other things going on in my life, I was completely unprepared for my birthday.

As a little getaway to celebrate, my boyfriend and I decided (I decided, Elliot paid for it) to go to The Crazy Bear Hotel. I’d seen so many pictures of the hotel and heard great things about it, I had to experience it for myself.

When we arrived at the hotel reception to check in, we were offered a complimentary glass of champagne. Great start. After all the paperwork was filled in, the receptionist escorted us around the hotel. As the tour came to an end we were shown to Suite 27, our room for the evening.

The room was unbelievable. Purple velvet covered the walls of the room and the floor was layered in black leather. At the end of the bed there was a large copper bath and after about 20 minutes of trying to figure out where the water comes from, we realised the water comes from the ceiling.

The bathroom was decorated in a black and gold marble and had two thick curtains, which were used as the “door” between the bathroom and the bedroom. The only thing which I didn’t like about the bathroom was the mirror over the sink. I’m 5’2 and that mirror was too high up for me to see. This made the process of me doing my make-up very challenging. Being short is the worst.

My favourite thing in this world is a bubble bath. When I found out the rooms had freestanding baths at the end of the bed, I was excited to say the least.

Luckily, when we stayed, the weather was lovely (for once). This meant we were able to enjoy the outdoor pool and have a cocktail before dinner.

From the outside, the hotel looked very small and, other than the large wooden bear on the doorstep, was hardly recognisable.  Once you step inside, the hotel is huge. With two restaurants, a large bar, a Moroccan-themed lounge and a pool/jacuzzi outside, it’s safe to say the entrance of the hotel is deceiving. The hotel was unlike anything I’ve seen before and I’m so glad I chose to spent the weekend celebrating my birthday there. It was a great experience and I loved every part of my stay.
